Senior Scottish economist claims cuts doing more harm than good

ONE of Scotland’s senior economists has warned that the government’s austerity cuts are doing more harm than good for the UK’s long-term economic prospects. Grain merchant Alexander Inglis & Son has reported a record set of results helped by the booming Scotch whisky sector. Travis Perkins confirms weaker sales during Olympics
