ONLINE dating company Cupid expects its share in overseas markets to accelerate as global demand continues to grow.
Half-year figures for the Edinburgh-based company show revenues from new markets rose 122 per cent to £22.2 million and by 67 per cent in developing countries to £500,000. Income from established areas was up by just 6 per cent to £16m.
Chief executive Bill Dobbie said: “During the period we concentrated on growth within our existing global footprint, particularly in the USA, where our strong performance gives us increased confidence in our ability to continue to unlock further sustained growth at rates that are well above market trends.”
He said the company had made a number of bolt-on acquisitions and continues to seek out firms in attractive markets.
Group pre-tax profits fell from £3.9m to £3.6m on a 51 per cent increase in revenue fromn £25.5m to £38.6m.
