A JOINT venture set up to provide office and industrial facilities has bought 36 acres of land from the Crown Estate to build a business park in central Scotland.

Stirling Development Agency (SDA), a partnership between Stirling Council and property firm Valad Europe, said yesterday it had bought the land for its planned 400,000sq ft Kildean Business Park.

The site sits next to SDA’s existing Castle Business Park, near the M9 motorway west of Stirling, and the group already has plans for a development providing offices, retail premises and leisure space.

It will have a range of office pavilions and a headquarters
facility of up to 100,000sq ft. SDA says Kildean will be particularly well suited to companies looking for centrally located offices in Scotland.

Andy Richardson, Valad’s head of UK development, said: “The acquisition provides an excellent location for SDA to develop the Kildean Business Park.

“With detailed planning consent already in place for the initial infrastructure works, the dedicated link from the Kildean roundabout has been completed and work will start soon for the provision of a family pub and restaurant as well as a children’s nursery.”

He said that, once complete, the business park will provide facilities for “local jobs” and increasing economic stimulus across the region.
