TENNIS star Andy Murray has appointed property firm Bidwells to oversee the renovation of his newly acquired Perthshire hotel, Cromlix.
Bidwells’ Perth office acted as agent for the £1.8 million purchase of the hotel on behalf of the Murray family last month. It said work will soon get under way to transform the grade B-listed Victorian mansion into a 15-room five-star hotel, due to open in time for the Ryder Cup next year.
Diabetes tech firm gets funding boost
Angel investment group Kelvin Capital has led a £155,000 fund raising in a Rosyth-based firm, Epipole, to develop a software monitoring and screening platform for diabetes sufferers.
The company, founded by Dr Craig Robertson, received £100,000 in a Smart Scotland grant as part of the package. The medical image analysis firm is also backed by a Scottish Enterprise business support scheme through Alba Innovation Centre.
Angel’s Pentland plant snapped up
A SECOND part of collapsed life sciences outfit Angel Biotechnology has been bought out of administration, saving 23 jobs in Edinburgh.
AB Biotechnology, which was set up by Angel and Russian customer Materia Medica in December, has bought Angel’s operations at the Pentland Science Park. News of the deal came after Angel’s collagen production plant in Glasgow was bought by Collbio, a start-up led by former Angel acting chief executive Stewart White.
