A PAIR of British architecture firms have won contracts to design venues for the 2016 Olympic Games in Brazil.
3DReid, which worked on the Sir Chris Hoy velodrome for the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, will be part of the team working on Rio’s velodrome, while AndArchitects will work on the handball arena.
Gordon McGhie, director of 3DReid’s Glasgow office, said: “To play a part in the 2016 Olympics, so soon after completing the velodrome in our home city, is just fantastic.”
British firms have now won 30 contracts for the 2014 World Cup and 2016 Olympic Games.
