Temporary power generator Aggreko has reported an 11 per cent rise in profits following last year’s “flawless” £60 million contract to supply the London Olympics.

The Glasgow-based group also said shareholders would receive a final dividend of 15.63p a share on 23 May, taking the total payout for 2012 to 23.91p – an increase of 15 per cent over the previous year.

Aggreko posted a pre-tax profit before one-off items of £365m for the 12 months to December, up from £327 in 2011, on revenues 13 per cent higher at £1.6 billion.

Chairman Ken Hanna said the firm’s staff had delivered a “flawless service” at last year’s London Olympics, which generated £60m in revenues.

Cantor Fitzgerald analyst Caroline de La Soujeole said: “Aggreko remains one of our top picks in the sector. The company is the leader in what we believe to be a very attractive market with long-term structural growth drivers.”
