FILM director Ridley Scott is looking to raise £5 million to fund six UK-made, low-budget horror and suspense thrillers.
The director of films including Alien, Blade Runner and Prometheus, has partnered with production and finance specialist Orchard Media to target investors through a tax efficient Enterprise Investment Scheme that will be launched this week.
Up-and-coming film makers will direct the productions which will shot primarily in Northern Ireland, where the hit TV programme Game of Thrones is filmed.
Liza Marshall, head of Scott Free London, a subsidiary of the director’s production company, said: “There is an appetite for high-concept genre films, and we believe that this is a great opportunity to make distinctive, commercially successful films.”
