THE government-backed Green Investment Bank has confirmed that it will take 27,000 sq ft of the seventh floor of the Atria development, the new “Grade A” office block neighbouring the Edinburgh International Conference Centre.
The letting by Montagu Evans, at £30 per sq ft, follows the decision of broker Brewin Dolphin to take almost two floors in the building, marketed as one of the most environmentally-efficient in the city.
Capital Document in Highland expansion
Capital Document Solutions has further expanded its presence in Scotland with the acquisition of Inverness-based Highland Office Equipment for an undisclosed sum.
The move, part of plans to raise turnover to £30 million by 2015, takes group headcount at Edinburgh-based Capital to about 200. The office equipment firm, founded in 1979, also has operations in Aberdeen, Dundee, Glasgow and Shetland.
Babcock on course to hit expectations
Rosyth dockyard-owner Babcock International yesterday said it was confident of meeting its expectations for the full year, as a tough economic climate created opportunities to win outsourcing contracts.
The group said its bid pipeline had grown to some £14 billion from £13bn in November, driven by the rebidding for contracts with Network Rail and the BBC. Shares gained 6p to 1,038p.
Low–cost rivals put pressure on Astra
The new boss of AstraZeneca has warned that the company faces another tough year as its biggest-selling drugs come up against competition from lower-cost rivals.
Pascal Soriot, who joined from rival Roche in October, unveiled a 38 per cent drop in profits to £4.9 billion for 2012 and said the loss of exclusivity on several brands would hurt performance this year.
