Accounting firm French Duncan is to provide advice to tenants at the BioCity Scotland project in Lanarkshire after signing up to a corporate partnership agreement with the life sciences incubator.
Head of tax Ann Somerville said the firm would help businesses at the facility develop strategy, raise capital and claim tax credits for research and development (R&D).
She added: “With extensive experience helping to grow profitable businesses in the healthcare and bioscience sector, our advisory service is well positioned to supply relevant and practical advice.”
BioCity Scotland – a joint venture between BioCity Nottingham and Roslin BioCentre – opened in January, occupying the former Merck plant in Newhouse, near Motherwell. It provides R&D facilities for bioscience, healthcare and pharmaceutical companies.
Managing director Fraser Black said: “French Duncan brings world-class expertise in accountancy and a deep understanding of the needs of start-up and SME companies in the life science sector.”
