CLINTEC, the Glasgow-based clinical research group, is expanding into Malawi following a deal with a major drugs company.
The unnamed pharmaceutical group has chosen ClinTec, which now carries out research from bases in more than 40 countries, as its preferred partner for vaccine development in Africa and Asia.
ClinTec founder Dr Rabinder Buttar said that despite challenging economic conditions, the company was continuing to win business in an industry which was increasingly focusing its efforts on emerging markets.
ClinTec is recruiting staff with vaccine research experience to join its teams in both Africa and Asia, where it said it expects strong growth in the years ahead.
