Scottish brewery lands Burns Night contract

A SCOTTISH brewery is raising a glass to the national bard after landing a deal to supply a national supermarket chain with two of its beers for Burns Night.

Traditional Scottish Ales, based at Throsk near Stirling, signed one of its biggest deals to date with budget grocer Aldi.

The brewery’s William Wallace Export and Rabbie Burns Blonde beer are being stocked at all of Aldi’s 462 UK stores in the run up to Burns Night on Friday. The brewery drafted in temporary staff to help meet demand.

Graham said: “The deal is a big boost for us and will help us to continue to grow. There is an abundance of big-name beers in England, but there’s no one big Scottish name on supermarket shelves. We’re hoping that this deal is our first step in helping established Scottish beers join the big brands on shelf in England.”
