ASSETS managed by Edinburgh-based Baillie Gifford rose to
£85 billion at 31 December, compared with £69.9bn a year earlier, according to figures released yesterday.

But the partnership refused to divulge any profit or revenue data as it unveiled a trio of promotions.

Three staff have joined the partnership following the retirement of Angus McLeod – clients department director for Asia and the Middle East – after 28 years at the firm.

The new partners are: Spencer Adair, an investment manager in the “global alpha” team; Kathrin Hamilton, clients department director for North America; and legal and regulatory risk director Graham Laybourn.

The appointments and retirement take the number of partners to 39.
