GADGET repairer Regenersis has won a “very significant” contract that will extend its operations in fast-growing emerging markets.

The Aim-quoted firm said the details of the “multi-geography, multi-year” contract are still being negotiated, but that it will provide details before or with its half-year results in March.

Last year Regenersis bought Spanish peer HDM Group to expand into emerging markets.

Regenersis – which is one of the biggest electricals employers in Scotland, with about 800 staff at Glenrothes and Inchinnan – already repairs gadgets for companies including HTC, John Lewis and Samsung.

Activist investor Hanover built a stake in Regenersis in 2011 and installed Matthew Peacock as executive chairman.

The firm has since been restructured and entered new markets, including “in-field testing”, in which Regenersis works with cable companies to diagnose faults with television set-top boxes in customers’ homes, rather than sending them to its repair centres.
