KERR Luscombe, group strategy director at life and pensions company Royal London, is to add the finance operations to his role after Stephen Shone decided to step down as finance director after 14 years.

Before leaving, Shone, 55, will complete the company’s acquisition of the Co-operative Banking Group’s life insurance and asset management businesses.

Royal London chairman Tim Melville-Ross said Shone had “created and delivered strategies which have led the business through significant change”.

Luscombe, 47, joined Royal London last year from Scottish Widows and Clerical Medical and has held a number of finance director roles. He has been a qualified actuary for more than 20 years.

Phil Loney, group chief executive at Royal London, said: “This new role combines our finance, actuarial and strategy functions.”
