Broadcasting group ITV today reported a 4 per cent rise in revenues for the first nine months of the year and said its cost-cutting programme was running ahead of schedule.
The company, home to period drama Downton Abbey and reality show I’m a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here, said total external revenues rose to £1.6 billion, up from £1.5bn a year earlier.
Chief executive Adam Crozier said that net advertising revenues across the ITV family of channels was expected to be “broadly flat” over the year as whole, after holding steady at £1bn in the nine months to 30 September.
He added: “The economic outlook remains uncertain and we continue to see monthly volatility in the UK television advertising market, but the underlying trends have not changed.”
Crozier said the group ended the period with net cash of £90m and total cost savings would be around £30m this year, some £10m ahead of target.
