DATA centre provider Telecity Group last week said trading was robust and that continued growth in the digital economy was driving demand.

It said expansion of its facilities over the next five years would provide it with “significant” medium-term revenue growth potential. It has also bolstered its position in the Finnish market recently with the acquisition of Academica.

Following the update, Tele-city’s chief executive Michael Tobin demonstrated his confidence in the company’s prospects by purchasing 2,000 shares at 843.60p. He now holds 616,000 shares in the firm.

• Jan Castro, non-executive chairman of mining group Sierra Rutile, has bought 125,000 shares at an average price of 49.8 pence per share. He now owns 821,000 shares.

• David Stevens, chief operating officer of Admiral Group, has bought 97,500 shares to take his stake in the insurance company to 10.63 million. They were purchased for 1,022p each.

• James Agnew, senior non-executive director at oil and gas exploration firm Petroceltic, has taken his first holding with the purchase of 140,000 shares at about 7p each.

• The wife of Robert Day, a director at The Mission Marketing Group, has bought 17,263 shares at 28.75p each. He is now interested in just over six million shares.

• Russell Edey, chairman of mining group Avocet, has bought 100,000 shares at 63.75p each.

• Mark Chapman, non-executive chairman of Chinese tool producer Qihang Equipment Company, has bought 50,000 shares at 9p each. He is now interested in 117,632 shares in the company.
