Croma, the Dumfries security firm founded by former soldiers from the Black Watch, yesterday unveiled two contracts after saying its full-year revenue grew by 17 per cent to £9.9 million.

The firm won a £250,000 contract with UK Land to guard commercial premises in the north-east of the UK.

It will provide officers and technology.

It has increased its work with Odeon following a three-year deal worth a minimum of £70,000 to install and maintain CCTV systems across its estate of more than 100 cinemas.

Croma published results for the year to 30 June, which include three months’ contribution from the companies acquired in March when it expanded and widened its range of services beyond the provision of security staff and re-branded itself as Croma Security Solutions (CSS) Group.

Chairman Sebastian Morley said the last financial year had been “transformational”, with the full benefits now being felt.

“Whilst the Croma and CSS businesses both performed creditably through this period of change and management distraction, I am confident that we will see the full benefit of the combination of these businesses in the current financial year and beyond,” he said.

“Moving into the second half of 2012 and beyond, our main focus is on the continued integration of the group in support of further organic growth.”

The firm said it made “gross profit” of £1.8m, up 8.9 per cent on the year before. But after tax and other deductions it was left with just £90,000 by the Ebitda measure.
