Energy services firm Wood Group today unveils plans to expand in India with the creation of up to 100 jobs.
The opening of a £750,000 engineering hub, supported by Scottish Development International (SDI), will enable the Aberdeen-based group to offer more services to both the domestic market and international projects in Asia, Australia, Europe and the Middle East.
Wood Group currently employs 130 people in India, where it has operated since 2000.
Regional director David Clark said: “The pedigree of engineering skills in India is especially high. This development provides a gateway for Wood Group to bring skilled engineers into our organisation.”
SDI chief Anne MacColl said: “With some 40 per cent of offshore wells in Asia, Scottish companies are actively seeking to expand overseas.”
