A DUTCH fertility clinic operator has bought a controlling stake in the Glasgow Centre for Reproductive Medicine (GCRM), creating the UK’s biggest supplier of fertility services to both the NHS and the private sector.
Academic Reproductive Partnership, which is backed by a private equity firm and recently changed its name from Repin, has already taken over IVF Hammersmith and the Oxford Fertility Unit.
Three of GCRM’s founders – managing director Paul Mitchell, medical director Marco Gaudoin and science director Richard Fleming – will remain with the business, which also runs a clinic in Edinburgh.
Mitchell explained: “GCRM has gone from strength to strength and, in terms of business development, this was the next logical step.”
